Do Celebrities Own Private Jets?

A common buy for many wealthy investors are private jets. With a private jet, top executives and corporate entrepreneurs can be in the air in no time at all. With flying often comes expense though, and many of us would rather not spend money on such transportation if we can. However, with so many of the super wealthy having jets, that is simply not an option. Instead, these people must have access to them to get where they want to be.

So how do these seemingly wealthy individuals afford such lavish jets? In most cases, these are owned by a company or organization that profits from the business they are involved in. In some cases, these companies or organizations simply outsource their services and because of the nature of the work they perform, do not need their executives to fly frequently. In such situations, jets can be chartered to allow a company owner to use them when they need to. While some of the world’s more prominent business tycoons do own private jets of their own, there are those that do not.

One of the most famous members of the media family, philanthropist and billionaire philanthropist; philanthropist, entertainer and actor/entertainer, philanthropist, and actor; actor and entertainer, George Clooney owns at least one private jet. As does former Spice Girl Melanie Brown. Although few of these world famous celebrities actually fly around in their private jets on a regular basis, it is important to understand the cost of chartering a jet and the benefits of traveling in a more comfortable and spacious manner. For instance, instead of taking a commuter flight, traveling by bus or taxi, or even driving yourself, you can simply charter a jet to arrive at your destination much quicker. The cost of hiring a jet can vary depending on several factors including the destination, the size of the plane, and the length of the trip.

Celebrities have been known to use private jets as a method of traveling between film sets or other business related activities. This is no different than the use of charter flights for business trips. The price of chartering a jet can also vary depending on the company offering the service, the time of year it is needed and the airport where the jet is scheduled to land. However, it should be noted that some of the more common destinations that are thought to have jets waiting for them upon request include London, New York, Sydney, Miami, and Tokyo. As you can see, chartering a private jet is just as important to the rich and famous as it is to everyone else.

Other well-known supermodels include Brad Pitt and Pamela Anderson, and actor Jack Nicholson. Some actors who own jets include actor Tom Cruise and singer Patti LaBelle. Even professional wrestlers like Triple H and Shawn Michaels have private jets listed in their names, though it should be noted that they do not actually fly around in these aircraft.

Regardless of which celebrities own these aircraft, it is obvious that there is a definite price associated with such ownership, even though it is impossible to say exactly how much. For example, it would be impossible to determine the exact cost of a trip for one billionaire, one who has a net worth of nearly half a billion dollars, to an airplane that is only worth a few hundred million dollars. These types of discrepancies are ones that are bound to arise over time as the costs of fuel and flying increases due to inflation.

A great example of celebrities who own private jets would be Yahoo CEO and co-founder executives Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Microsoft co-founders and current billionaires are also thinking to use private jets on a frequent basis. Other well-known names who are thought to frequently travel in these types of jets include media tycoon Oprah Winfrey and movie producer Harvey and Bob Weinstein. It is also not uncommon for members of the royal family to charter jets for their travel needs. Royalty jets are used by members of the royal family to fly to and from locations, as well as for entertaining in style.

The exact reasons why these well-known individuals opt to charter a private jet, rather than flying in one of the more reliable aircraft, is not known. However, it is clear that there is a significant difference between using a personal jet to vacation and using it for business. For some reason, some people feel that it is important to own a personal jet because they feel it is less safe than flying a commercial airplane. While it is impossible to completely eliminate risk in any type of business venture, it appears as though the incidence of CEOs and members of the royal family traveling in private jets is on the rise.
